About The Portal: A Presence-Centered Perinatal Training
The Portal is a 28-week experiential training that brings trauma-informed awareness to conception, birth, and early parenting through the Compassionate Inquiry® approach to perinatal care.
Designed for professionals who support women, birthing people, and families, this program invites you to explore how the earliest experiences of conception, gestation, birth, and bonding shape lifelong patterns of safety, connection, and trust.
Through presence, curiosity, and embodied awareness, you’ll learn to recognize and respond to the subtle imprints of prenatal and birth experiences—in yourself and in the women, families, and expectant people you support.
This training honors birth as a sacred passage—not merely a medical event—inviting presence, gentleness, and reverence for the body’s innate wisdom.
Who This Training Is For
This training welcomes:
- Midwives, doctors, nurses, doulas, lactation consultants, childbirth educators.
- Therapists and counselors supporting perinatal or postpartum clients.
- Coaches, bodyworkers, and facilitators interested in birth, attachment, or early developmental experiences.
- Compassionate Inquiry® practitioners wishing to specialize in the perinatal field.
No prior Compassionate Inquiry® training is required—only a willingness to engage in deep self-reflection and relational presence.
What You’ll Gain
The Portal offers a holistic, multimodal learning experience grounded in mindfulness, somatic awareness, pre- and perinatal psychology, spirituality, and Compassionate Inquiry®.
You will learn to:
- Understand how implicit prenatal and birth experiences shape emotional and relational patterns throughout life.
- Recognize when a client’s present reactions may be influenced by early preverbal experiences and respond with safety and compassion.
- Support relational healing by fostering secure, attuned connections for expectant women, birthing people, partners, and families.
- Guide families in nurturing bonding with their baby from conception, recognizing babies as active participants in the relational field.
- Strengthen trust in your own intuitive, embodied knowing as a foundation for grounded professional presence.
- Cultivate presence, attunement, and emotional safety—the heart of trauma-informed, relationship-centered care.
- Deepen awareness of your own early imprints so you can support others with steadiness, authenticity, and compassion.
- Contribute to healthier relationships and emotional well-being across generations.
This training blends professional skill-building with personal transformation, helping you offer clearer, more compassionate, and more connected care throughout the perinatal journey.
