Recognizing and Working with Dissociation in Compassionate Inquiry Practice

This interactive workshop has the purpose to provide CI practitioners worldwide with an in-depth, experiential understanding of dissociation: how to recognize it in themselves and their clients, how to meet it with attunement and curiosity, and how to work with it in a way that fosters safety, integration, and healing.

Join us on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 10am - 2:30pm ET (Toronto time zone)

In this session you will:
  • Understand dissociation as a survival mechanism and its spectrum (from everyday “zoning out” to trauma-related dissociation).
  • Recognize direct and subtle signs of dissociation in CI practice.
  • Become familiar with the “language of dissociation” in client narratives, body signals, and therapist’s counter transference.
  • Practice grounding and re-anchoring techniques that are consistent with CI principles.
  • Explore dissociation through their own lived experience and self-reflection, increasing their ability to remain present as CI therapists.
  • Integrate parts-work perspectives (Structural Dissociation/ IFS/CI approach) when meeting dissociative processes.

By registering for this workshop, you will receive:

  • Full access to the event + recording after
