Q: What if I miss a session?
A: Consistent attendance is crucial for the group process. Please ensure you can commit to all sessions before enrolling.

Q: Is this therapy?
A: CI Circles are support groups facilitated by certified practitioners. They are not a substitute for individual therapy.

Q: Can I join if I'm currently in therapy?
A: Yes, many participants find CI Circles complement their individual therapy work. It’s always helpful to let your therapist know you're joining the circle, especially if sensitive topics may arise.

Q: How do I choose the right group?
A: Groups are scheduled at various times to accommodate different time zones. Choose the one that best fits your schedule.

Q: Do I need prior experience with Compassionate Inquiry to join?
A: No prior experience is required. CI Circles are designed to be accessible to anyone interested in self-inquiry and emotional healing. Your facilitators will guide you gently through the process, offering structure, reflection, and tools along the way.

Q: Is everything I say confidential?
A: Yes. All participants agree to strict confidentiality guidelines. What is shared in the circle stays in the circle. This commitment creates a safe, respectful environment where vulnerability and trust can flourish.

Q: What if I get emotionally overwhelmed during a session?
A: Your facilitators are trained to support emotional regulation and hold space compassionately. You are always encouraged to listen to your needs—whether that means stepping away briefly, turning your camera off, or reaching out after the session. You will never be pressured to share more than you’re ready for.

Q: What’s the difference between CI Circles and a support group?
A: CI Circles are more than just support groups. While they offer emotional support, they are also structured spaces for guided self-inquiry using the Compassionate Inquiry approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté and Sat Dharam Kaur ND. The experience is both relational and introspective, offering tools to explore your inner world with compassion and clarity.

Q: What if I have trauma or a history of abuse?
A: Many participants come to CI Circles with a history of trauma or difficult past experiences. While the space is designed to be trauma-sensitive, it's important that you have enough emotional stability to reflect and engage with the process. CI Circles are not a substitute for therapy, and may not be suitable if you’re in an acute mental health crisis or active addiction. If you’re unsure, we encourage you to speak with a therapist or reach out to us for guidance.

Compassionate Inquiry Inc reserves the right to deny acceptance to a Compassionate Inquiry® Circle applicant and to withdraw a participant from the Compassionate Inquiry® Circle at any time if the Compassionate Inquiry® Circle Leader or the admin team determine that a participant’s behaviour, attitude or views could negatively impact the quality of the Circle experience or group, or if the participant is not a good fit for the program. Compassionate Inquiry® Inc, in its sole discretion, may terminate a participant’s participation at any time. If this should occur, Compassionate Inquiry® Inc will refund the tuition paid for the training.

This is an experiential program with a limited number of spaces available.

Since a space is reserved for you when you register and pay, there are no refunds available for this course 14 days prior to the start date, and thereafter. No exceptions. If you request a refund 15 or more days before the start date, it will be granted, minus a $250 CAD admin fee. Deadline for the refund is February 9th, 2026.
